(upbeat music) Well getting stuck in life happens to everybody. I don't care who you are, there comes those times in life that we just seem to become stagnant. And whenever that happens, if it happens for a week, it happens for two weeks, come on, it's no big deal, it happens to everybody. But if it goes to the point that you're really getting concerned, and you're not having the traction, you're not making the progress in life that you want, then you need to stop, take an assessment and say what's going on here? Is it that I don't have a goal, or I don't have a plan to get to my goal? And sometimes it's both. After my family's house caught fire I was diagnosed with severe anxiety and PTSD, and I was prescribed Valium at 11 years old. I'm supposed to take two 20 milligrams of Adderall, three two milligram Xanax, and Ambien every single night for insomnia. Topamax as a mood stabilizer. I also have a medical marijuana card. The first time I got drunk I was 12 years old. Now I get black out drunk every often. I have zero motivation. I've been relying on my settlement money. A couple months ago I received a $5,000 check. I blew it on more lip injections, my eyelashes, shopping. I completely go (beep) when I have money. It's go hard or go home in my opinion. Whenever I spend too much money and I realize who you've been partying a lot, and you're a little short on this power bill, I gotta give my dad a ring. I don't have anything else to do so I spend money. Do you self medicate? With alcohol, yeah. And what triggers you to know that it's time to self medicate? I mean do you start feeling anxiety? Confusion? Sometimes, yes. Panic, what is it? Um, sometimes like you know if I've had a really, really horrible day, and I just feel like why not just get drunk and forget about it? Do you have flashbacks about this fire? None. Do you have nightmares about it? Zero. Do you talk about it with anybody? Yes. Who do you talk with it about? I mean I talk to my friends about it. I talk about it a lot actually, you know. And how has it effected your body image to have gone through the surgeries and skin grafts and all that? I go back and forth. Like I'll be dressing in long sleeves one day and then you'll see me at the pool the next day. You said, and this is a quote, "If I ever spend too much money because I'm not good at controlling it, my dad helps me." you know you've got a backstop. We're in Hollywood so write your life script. I mean where, if you could write the script of your life, where would you be in 10 years? I would be either a life coach or a child life specialist. And like a child life specialist in the hospital, to talk to kids and tell them what's gonna happen before they go into that surgery room. And make sure that they're calm while they're getting an IV put in their arm. Like, you know, like I've been through. And I adored my child life specialist, and I've always wanted to do that. And when's that likely to happen? I wish I knew, or I wouldn't be here. So you don't have a plan to get there, you just wanna be there? Right. If you don't have something you're working towards in your life, if you don't have something you're passionate about in your life, I think you need to sit down and say okay look, what really matters to me? What am I excited about in my life? What can I better myself towards? And then make a plan to get there. And remember what I said, your goal needs to be specific. It needs to be measurable in some way. You need to have a timeline for getting there. And identify the steps that you have to take. Action-oriented steps. This isn't just thinking, it's action-oriented steps. The universe rewards action. So make your goal measurable, make it realistic, set it against a timeline, and identify the steps that you need to take to get there. And you can do this, you might have five of these things going at once. Maybe there's something with your children, something in your career, something in your spiritual life, whatever. Have goals, work towards them. You'll be amazed how things change. (upbeat music)
