MARIA: Welcome back for another edition of 87 Steps I'm your host Maria Randazzo. Today our special guest is Ileah and another special guest her dog Sashi. Ileah, first question, how old is Sashi? ILEAH: She's 10. MARIA: She's 10! She looks amazing for her age. Did you get her when she was a puppy? ILEAH: I did. I got her from New York City, and she was so small she would fit in your hand and she would eat everything- she was a terror. MARIA: Do you have another dog? ILEAH: I have two dogs. MARIA: Okay Sashi, and who else? ILEAH: Remi. He's 13, he's a chihuahua, and he's super arthritic so he would just sit down on the stairs. MARIA: Gotcha, well we're very happy that both of you joining us today. Um where are you from originally? ILEAH: Buffalo, New York. MARIA: Are you Bills fan? ILEAH: I mean by birth. [Laughter] MARIA: How long have you been in DC? ILEAH: Since 2016. MARIA: Okay, well brought you down? ILEAH: A job. MARIA: What kind of work do you do? ILEAH: I'm an attorney. I represent children. MARIA: Really? That must be pretty intense, how do you decompress after- what is Ileah's self care regiment look like? ILEAH: Yoga, November Project, wine- MARIA: Alright what's your preferred type of wine? ILEAH: Dry reds. MARIA: Dry reds. MARIA: Uh, hmm. What is your summer reading book right now? ILEAH: I'm like, I'm into podcasts right now. MARIA: Okay, what are we podcasting, what are listening to? ILEAH: "Dope Labs", which is amazing, by two DC women, and "Why Won't You Date Me," because I'm single. MARIA: Okay, why won't they? I mean, what the answer? Have you dated in DC at all? ILEAH: I have... MARIA: What do you think? Not good? ILEAH: Uhhhh dumpster light? MARIA: Hopefully you'll find whoever you're looking for. Moving into rapid-fire questions- what's your favorite movie that you've seen in the last year? ILEAH: End Game. MARIA: Favorite TV show to binge watch? ILEAH: Absentia on Amazon.
