10 Proven Steps To Achieve Any Goal

Hello and welcome to 'Systemic Mind' This episode is going to walk you through a proven 10 step process that will ensure you achieve any goal you set your mind on. you set your mind on. In order to set the scene lets consider this powerful quote from Brian Tracy. Brian's words hold true even more so when you consider that your mind has an inbuilt psycho-cybernetic function which means that it works most effectively when it's focused on a goal. In effect, whatever goal you feed to your subconscious mind it will work on night and day to achieve. The thing is, everyone has goals. Everyone wants to be, do or have certain things in life. These things are goals. The problem is the way most people think about these things will ensure they never happen. Most people push what they want to the edge of their awareness. Ya sure they'd like to drive a red Ferrari or live in a country mansion or travel the world. Yet they don't think these things are really possible. In this context these things are mere wishes that lack any real power or substance. Truly successful people are intensely goal oriented. They think carefully through every goal. They set hard deadlines. They create detailed plans of action and they work diligently on these plans day in and day out until the goals are achieved. Conversely, non goal setters tend to spin their wheels. They go around in circles because they have not charted a course in the direction of a particular goal. They waste so much time doing things that they have little if any impact on their life. In fact, many of the things they do are self sabotaging. So what you need to realize is this: If you are serious about living your dreams then you have to become an avid goal setter. There really is no other way of going from where you are to where you want to be. In order to set and achieve worthwhile goals you need to take the following steps. STEP #1 / 10: Realize You Are In Control In the hectic world we live in many people feel overwhelmed. They think that they have no control over the direction their life is taking. They feel their lives are cast from a mold created by someone else. Such an attitude is self defeating. If you think you have 'no control' then you will act accordingly. However, when you set goals and create action steps for their implementation your life will change as you execute those steps. Very quickly you'll realize you are omnipotent. i.e you have full control and seizing that control takes just the decision to do so. STEP #2 / 10: Realize Nothing Is Impossible One of the greatest travesties of our time is that everyone is running around with little man syndrome or little woman syndrome. They think big goals can only be achieved by other people. They fail to realize that: 'we are all the same'. The most successful people in history all started at the back of the line too. What they had that made the difference was a belief in themselves. When President Kennedy asked Dr. Wernher von Braun what is would take to put a man on the moon he simply said: "The will to do it". So believe in yourself and step forward in faith in the direction of your dreams. STEP #3 / 10: Set Goals For Each Life Category STEP #3 / 10: Set Goals For Each Life Category You need to divide your life into its core categories and set goals under each of these categories. These include: Business & Work Health and Recreational Family and Relationship Finance and Wealth Dream List and Bucket List Personal and Growth Legacy and Contribution The goals must be structured in the POSITIVE, PERSONAL and PRESENT tense. In other words, you need to say things like: I HAVE I DRIVE I OWN I EARN I WEIGH. It is also imperative that they are specific. So don't say: 'I want to lose weight' say: 'I weigh 158 lb.' or whatever your ideal weight might be. These points are key in order to provide pertinent instructions to your subconscious mind. STEP #4 / 10: Set Specific Deadlines A 'goal' without a 'deadline' is merely a wish. You have to write down specific deadlines next to each goal. Of course, these deadlines should be realistic. Setting deadlines that do not allow a reasonable time frame for goal attainment will serve only to add unnecessary stress and frustration. If you do not achieve your goals by the set deadline then simply extend the deadline. Never ever give up. Advance every day in the direction of your goal. Keep going, keep striving, keep pushing and no matter what happens you will eventually manifest that goal. STEP #5 / 10: Create Detailed Plans Of Action Many people set goals but fail to create detailed plans of action. You need a plan of action to take any goal from concept to reality. A 'Plan Of Action' is merely a list of action steps you need to take to move a goal into reality. So create a list of every task you need to execute ranked in order of priority. Then start at the highest priority item and work your way down the list. In effect, bit by bit, you edge closer to your goals just by focusing on completing the action steps one at a time. STEP #6 / 10: Come Up With All The Reasons You Want To Achieve That Goal Challenging goals often require a great deal of motivation in order to help you to push them over the line. The best way to get this motivation is to come up with all the reasons why you really want to achieve each goal. You can refer to this list frequently in order to boost your desire and reinforce your persistence. STEP #7 / 10: Work On Your Plans Every Single Day Action is the great elixir. Only through your personal action can you transmute goals into reality. You need to apply yourself so that you work with conviction on your task list every single day. This takes commitment and will power but it is the only route to goal attainment. So discipline yourself to work on your task list every single day. STEP #8 / 10: Micro Manage Your Time We all have just 24 hours in every day. But we all use that time very differently. Successful people have found ways to spend less time doing trivial things so that they can spend more time doing the important things. Effectively, you should always be working on your most important tasks as determined by the prioritized task list you created in an earlier step. You don't have time to waste on idle gossip watching TV or clowning around if you are serious about achieving your goals then you will become very efficient at managing your time. Effectively, every action you take should move you closer to your goals. Any action you take that pushes your goals further away is an example of self sabotage. So if your goal is to 'lose weight' and you go to lunch in McDonalds every day then that is an example of self sabotage. Developing the ability to pinpoint examples of self sabotage and taking corrective action is KEY to goal attainment. Remember, every action has a consequence. This consequence will either pull your goals towards you or push your goals away. So discipline yourself to act only in ways that pull your goals towards you.
